On Monday, August 14th, at 6:30pm in Founders Hall here at UUFSD, the Book Club will be discussing The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen, Winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Half Vietnamese, half French, educated in the United States, the narrator returns to Vietnam and finds himself naturally suited to espionage, which he pursues while working in the South Vietnamese army and serving as the trusted aide of a general with strong CIA connections. This novel is many things, as is its protagonist.
