UUFSD was introduced to Somos TIAS, meaning both Take Inspired Action Siempre and We are Aunties, at last Sunday’s service on 11/9/25. Those who came were moved by the personal stories of three TIAS members, two amazing singer/songwriters, and two eighth grade students who find hope for themselves and the world in these times by volunteering with TIAS.
TIAS is a group of neighbors dedicated to extending care and support to the vulnerable and at-risk in Solana Beach and Encinitas during this assault on our immigrant communities. The TIAS mission is to build stronger, safer, and more inclusive communities by providing those in need with what they need, when they need it. It takes a village to do this work.
The TIAS message in the service was amplified by Peggy Watson and David Beldock, singer-songwriters, who performed their powerful composition, We Are Not Criminals, which can be accessed on YouTube.
TIAS values are closely aligned with ours. If you’d like to get more information about how you can volunteer, contact Donna Gerhauser at TIAS@uufsd.org. To donate money online, go to Breeze and click on the Give TIAS button under Give to Special Collection.
