SUMMARY:UUFSD Bird-a-thon with Rigdon Currie\, February 23rd\, 8:30am\, mee

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday February 23rd from 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM we will c
 onduct a UUFSD Bird-A-Thon. We will meet at UUFSD\, bird that area then pr
 oceed down the hill to San Dieguito Lagoon and bird 2-3 spots there. Our g
 oal is to see or hear as many bird species as we can during our outing. Re
 quirement for participating is a donation to UUFSD on a per-species or fix
 ed any-amount basis. I expect that we will observe 40-50 species.\n\n&nbsp
 \;\n\nI have been fortunate in recruiting two excellent local birders to h
 elp guide us and be our guests at lunch. Both are very familiar with birdi
 ng around the Lagoon.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWe will have a picnic potluck lunch at
  the Fellowship which I will lightly manage for balance.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPar
 ticipating in a Bird-A-Thon is a fun team effort. An important goal is to 
 raise funds for a Bird &amp\; Butterfly Garden at the Fellowship. I am ple
 dging $1/bird and encourage others to pledge whatever they wish on a per-b
 ird or fixed amount basis. I will also seek sponsorship from non-participa
 nts and encourage you to do likewise.\n\nPlease put this date on your cale
 ndar. Later I will ask you to let me know if you plan to participate\, wha
 t your pledge is\, if you wish\, and what you plan to bring to lunch. I wi
 ll also send you the letter I will use to ask for sponsorship from others 
 as an example of what you might do.\n\nBinoculars are essential. If you do
  not have a pair of decent ones\, please let me know and I will provide th
 em.\n\nI encourage you to invite others\, whether members or not\, who mig
 ht enjoy this experience to come along. We should have a lot of fun.\n\nTh
