Worried about our election during COVID? You should be!!

We are focused on making sure that our upcoming election is fair and just. We are looking at a variety of issues, including:

  • Federal funding for states to convert from traditional elections to mail-in elections during the pandemic
  • Disenfranchisement of minorities, people in urban areas and youth
  • The closing of polling stations in urban areas, college towns, and areas with people of color
  • Access to mail-in ballots in all states
  • The proper counting of all ballots, including mail-in ballots
  • Advocating for legal changes to allow states to begin counting mail-in ballots upon receipt
  • Advocating for legal changes to allow for postponement of the certification date for elections, in the event that a recount has not been completed (Gore v. Bush was decided on the grounds that a recount could not be conducted before the statutory certification date)
  • Bankruptcy of USPS, which might occur before the election
