How do we relate to the classics in a more diverse age? We will be discussing The Catcher in the Rye(1951) by J.D. Salinger.
Email bookclub@uufsd.org or call/text Cathy Leach-Phillips at 650 224-1974 with questions.

Note that if you want an audio book, it is available here (but not at libraries) —

I thought, surely there’s a better book by now to replace this classic rich white boy story. And of course others have thought this before I did.

Then there’s THIS:
MORE DIVERSE, a fascinating website

How many of these have you read? Are there any which compete with Catcher in the Rye in your opinion?

I’m looking forward to a good discussion!
Remember, 6:30pm on April 11th (Palmer Library if open; otherwise Founders Hall West).
