SUMMARY:American Indian Educational Talks & Documentaries Project (ZOOM eve
 nt)
DESCRIPTION:In July of 2007\, then UUA President Sinkford asked\, "What are
our truths? To whom must we be reconciled?" We have many stories to uncov
er—genocide\, slavery\, oppression. Only by knowing our truths can we ac
t boldly on our spiritual journey of healing. One of the major efforts of
our UUFSD Racial Justice Project is to encourage our members and friends t
o “know our truths” by participating in ongoing educational programs r
elating to our Native American brothers and sisters. To that end\, we reco
mmend that members attend a screening of “Women Of The White Buffalo\,
” featuring SunRose IronShell as guest speaker on Saturday 8/27/22 at 11
am (PST). Register HERE. \n\nSynopsis: A matriarchal society upended by ce
nturies of genocide and colonialism has disenfranchised the Lakota women a
nd simultaneously reinforced their roles as the backbones of their communi
ties and the keepers of their people's ancient wisdom. These are the power
fully rich stories of the brave women and children living in one of the po
orest counties in the United States. NOTE: The American Indian Educational
Talks & Documentaries Project is housed at Palomar UU Fellowship.\n\nPost
