DESCRIPTION:On Monday May 12th we will be discussing the modern novel Jacki
 e & Me by Louis Bayard\, written in 2022.\nThe author states the book is 
 “without apology\, a fictional work and an exercise in alternative histo
 ry.” His subject was a real person:\nKirk LeMoyne Billings\, who met Joh
 n F. Kennedy as a teenager and became a longtime fixer and confidant for h
 is friend. Jack depends on his gay friend\, nicknamed Lem\, to entertain J
 ackie while he lays the groundwork for a political career\, and later to c
 onvince Jackie to marry JFK.\n\nWe meet in Founders Hall on the 2nd Monday
